Treasury adjusts welfare registration criteria in early 2025

Chulaphan” reveals that the Ministry of Finance will move forward with adjusting the welfare registration criteria in early 2025.

Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Deputy Minister of Finance, revealed that the Pracharat Welfare Committee for Grassroots Economy is preparing to discuss the progress of opening the new round of state welfare card registration according to the Cabinet resolution to review welfare card data every 2 years. It is expected that the new round of welfare card registration will be opened early 2025 to screen eligibility and reach a conclusion by 31 March 2025.

There are currently 13.5 million welfare cardholders. New qualification screening will look at income criteria, asset ownership, and land to prove poverty status according to the welfare recipient criteria. New review due to vocational training and increased income or some people dying to help with the Negtive Income Tax welfare allocation measure in order to use the information to help vulnerable groups in line with the target group.
