Government House, Cabinet approves land, water and air transport to provide equipment, facilities in buildings, locations and vehicles for the disabled to use.

Mrs. Ratklao Intawong Suwannakiri, Deputy Government Spokesperson, revealed that the Cabinet meeting resolved to approve the ministerial regulation specifying the characteristics or provision of equipment, facilities or services in buildings, locations, vehicles and transportation services to enable people with disabilities to access and utilize both bus stations, railways, airports and ports. Facilities must be provided for people with disabilities.

By improving various equipment such as car doors, equipment for carrying disabled people or equipment for lifting wheelchairs on and off the car, arranging toilets and sleeping rooms for disabled people, seats for disabled people, announcements of the next station, sound signals, light signals, navigation in Thai waters to have sleeping rooms for disabled people for passenger ships with sleeping rooms,
stairs, seats for disabled people, at least one ship officer who has been trained to provide services for boarding and disembarking the ship, arranging doors, tactile surfaces for disabled people, areas for parking wheelchairs for disabled people, plans for the location of facilities in the station, stairs and handrails.

Standards for signs in public transport systems, translation manuals or language symbols for bus staff to use in communicating with people with disabilities in accordance with the manual of the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning, ticket booths with space and height for wheelchairs, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of this matter and asked the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to cooperate and work in an integrated manner to achieve rapid results.
