Various provinces hold candlelight processions to celebrate the sacred water of the Buddha on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 72nd Birthday Anniversary on July 28, 2024.

At the Ubosot of Wat That, a royal temple in Mueang Khon Kaen District, Khon Kaen Province, Mr. Kraisorn Kongchalad, the Governor of Khon Kaen Province, presided over the candlelight procession ceremony to celebrate the holy water on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 72nd Birthday Anniversary on July 28, 2024. All government officials and members of the public dressed in yellow tones joined the ceremony.

In Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Mr. Niwat Rungsakorn, the Governor of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, presided over the candlelight procession ceremony to celebrate the holy water at Wat Suwannadararam Ratchaworawihan in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, with Phra Thep Mongkol Sobhon, the Abbot of Region 17-18, as the president of the monk sect. ince scooped the holy water from the sacred bowl into a jar, a Brahmin performed the Bai Sri ceremony, opened the candlelight procession glasses, and gave them to the Governor of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, who then passed them to the person on the left to circle around until the round was complete.

In Songkhla Province, Mr. Somnuk Promkhieo, the Governor of Songkhla Province, presided over the ceremony, with Phra Phisan Sikhakij, Advisor to the Songkhla Provincial Sangha and Abbot of Wat Chaeng, as the presiding monk in the ceremony. The Governor of Songkhla Province performed the Bai Sri candle procession ceremony to celebrate the sacred holy water. A Brahmin performed the Bai Sri ceremony and opened the candle holders to pass to the Governor, who then passed them to the left, circling around for 3 rounds, and the ceremony was complete.

In Chiang Mai, a ceremony was held inside the royal chapel of Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan, bringing holy water from Ang Ka Luang on Doi Inthanon, water from Khun N
am Mae Ping in Chiang Dao District, and water from the sacred well from Wat Buppharam in Mueang District to perform the candlelight procession ceremony this morning, chaired by Chiang Mai Governor Nirat Phongsitthaworn. The holy water will be kept at Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan for use in the auspicious royal ceremony celebrating His Majesty the King’s 60th birthday anniversary.
