Government House, 8 Oct. – “Thirat” Deputy Minister of Interior clears up drama about elephant camps, confirms all parties help each other well, believes everyone loves elephants, plans to find ways to live together with animals safely

Ms. Thirat Samretwanich, Deputy Minister of Interior, revealed about the assistance in evacuating elephants that were involved in the drama that at this time, from what she has experienced in the area, there is good assistance. On the day of the incident, many elephant camps came to help elephants that were drowning, including resorts where elephants were trapped, and she spoke smoothly with the elephant owners. Everyone helped each other.

I think this issue may be an external trend that may not have seen the images on the day of the incident, and may only see the chaos. Therefore, I would like all parties to focus on the future as the main thing, in order to coexist with the elephant camp and the people in the community, who will develop and restore the area to become an im
portant tourist attraction as before, and to gain cooperation from all parties.

Ms. Thirat said that today she knows that everyone who has expressed their opinions is concerned about elephants being raised differently, but everyone loves elephants equally. She knows that everyone has good intentions for elephants. Therefore, in the future, if an agreement can be reached on a middle path that will ensure the safety of all types of pets so that they can coexist with business owners and the public, this is a major principle that must be pursued. -317.-Thai News Agency
