Phahonyothin Road, on the upward side, at kilometer 815-816, Village No. 14, Ban Maokanarai Diao Subdistrict, Mae Ka Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phayao Province, has collapsed for a distance of more than 50 meters, causing traffic on the upward side of the road to be usable in only one lane, and the upward side of the road into Phayao City and Chiang Rai Province is impassable due to the road collapsing and affecting the road surface in both lanes. The cause is believed to be the continuous heavy rain.

The cause is believed to be the collapse of the Chang River Reservoir at Ban Nong, Village 4, Nam Cho Subdistrict, Mae Tha District, Lampang Province on September 26, causing a huge amount of water to quickly overflow and flood the surrounding area. The Nam Cho Subdistrict Municipality officials rushed to install steel panels to block off the area, along with signs indicating that it was a dangerous area, and prepared to repair it. As for the condition above the Ban Nong Reservoir, the water level was found to have dropped by more than 3 meters and was still flowing through the collapsed point continuously. It is
expected that the level will continue to decrease.
For Ban Nong Reservoir, it is the last reservoir that blocks the Chang River, storing water for agricultural use. It is a clay core reservoir that has been in use for 30 years. There are leaks and damages in many places. It was just repaired about a year ago. The province is urgently surveying the damage and providing recommendations for short-term, medium-term, and long-term repairs.
