Government spokesman reveals that the Prime Minister thanks everyone for their cooperation in facilitating the people to register for Digital Wallet rights with over 6,000 service points nationwide.

Mr. Chai Wachirong, spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office, revealed that Mr. Settha Thavisin, Prime Minister, thanked all agencies, including the private sector, for facilitating the people to register for the Digital Wallet rights. The latest data shows that more than 23.7 million people have registered to verify their identities (as of 9:30 a.m. on August 4, 2024). In addition, the government spokesman said that the response to the number of people registering is an encouragement for the government to continue working, fighting against opposition, disparaging, and political gains. However, it does not reduce the government’s encouragement because there are valuable feedbacks from the people. He asked the people to listen to public relations from government agencies and not believe in fake news that creates
confusion.

Mr. Chai said that currently, agencies from all sectors are facilitating the registration for people with smartphones who may encounter problems and are not as convenient as they should be or need assistance. Originally, there were more than 5,000 points. Currently, there are 900 more at Krung Thai Bank, totaling more than 6,000 points.

The government has collaborated with relevant agencies to facilitate registration for the public. The Prime Minister’s Office Spokesperson will publicize the service locations (Walk-in), provide information, and provide registration services for the project as follows:

Community Digital Centers, 1,722 centers nationwide

1,200 post offices nationwide

(except private post offices and service shops)

Government Savings Bank, 1,047 branches nationwide

Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), 1,238 branches nationwide

Krungthai Bank, 900 branches nationwide

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE), the Ministry of Finance, and related ag
