Government House, The Prime Minister opened Government House to welcome “View Kulwut” and the badminton team, happy to make history for the country. He said that after finishing his bachelor’s degree early next year, he will be ready to be a commissioned police officer.

Mr. Sermsak Pongpanich, Minister of Tourism and Sports, led “View Kulvut Vitidsarn”, a badminton athlete, silver medalist at the 2024 Olympics, along with May Ratchanok Intanon, May Supanida Ketthong, Coach Pae Phatthaphon Ngernsrisuk, coach, Mae Puk Kamala Thongkorn, president of Ban Thong Yod Badminton School, and the athletes’ families to meet Mr. Settha Thavisin, Prime Minister, at the Purple Room, Thai Khu Fa Building, Government House.

The Prime Minister said that it was a source of pride for all Thais. He had watched the competition that day and had been supporting her the whole time. However, he would like to use the words “that day was his day” and that View herself did not expect to reach this point. However, she hoped that it wou
ld not be enough and that she would continue to be an important force for the Thai badminton team. It is truly a historical medal and something to be proud of.

The Prime Minister continued that he had heard that View was also a police officer, and asked if she had graduated with a bachelor’s degree. View-Kulwut replied that it would be early next year. The Prime Minister then said that there was already a policy to allow for the appointment of commissioned officers, and he was happy to support everyone. He hoped that in the future, he would be an inspiration for many younger people to reach that point.

The Prime Minister then asked to see the medals from “View Kulwut” and greeted and talked with the athletes before taking a group photo of the athletes and their group.
