Oct 15 – The national police chief confirmed that charges will be filed against the executives of The Icon Group before the end of this month, emphasizing that the accused can sue him if they want to.

Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panphet, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, Pol. Lt. Gen. Akkaradej Pimolsri, Assistant Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, and Pol. Lt. Gen. Jiraphop Phuridet, Commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau, announced the progress of the Icon Group case. They said that today they came to follow up on the progress of the Icon Group case, which has progressed significantly. Currently, investigators are collecting evidence and believe that the accused have actually committed a crime. As for whether or not arrest warrants will be issued for all the accused, investigators must be careful and thorough in preparing the case. From what we have seen, the accused have come to show themselves to the investigators to show their innocence. It is the accused’s right. Whether to en
ter the process of requesting an arrest warrant is a matter for the future, which is under consideration. From looking at the evidence, it is believed that it falls under the category of direct sales, the Consumer Protection Act, the Emergency Decree on Loans, and fraud. The charges arose from the investigation that was found. The investigators must be given time to gather solid evidence before considering the guilt of the accused.

As for the progress in questioning the victims since October 10, more than 900 people have been questioned out of nearly 1,100 victims who registered, with damages worth 400 million baht. After the incident, the Royal Thai Police sent a letter to the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) to investigate the financial trail, as there were many complaints from victims and damages worth several million baht. They were concerned that assets might have been transferred to other parties, so they quickly investigated the financial trail. This matter will be discussed at the transaction comm
ittee meeting on October 17.
