The downstream area of ??Saraphi District still has flooding higher than 2 meters, causing distress to local residents who have to move their pets and lions to safety.

Flooding situation in the downstream areas of Pa Daed Subdistrict, Mueang District and Nong Faek Subdistrict, Nong Phueng Subdistrict, Saraphi District, Chiang Mai Province, villagers are still suffering heavily after the Ping River overflowed almost 3 meters and now the water is still over 2 meters high. Villagers in the area said they want a water pump to drain the water in the low-lying areas that are flooded so that the Ban Koh Klang community, Village No. 8, which has over 450 households, can return to normal like other areas.

While some families used this flood to turn the crisis into an opportunity by using their skills to catch fish that swam in the water, they were able to catch more than 30 fish and store them in ice to fill the refrigerator. They said that they kept them to cook and share with the family for many meals. They ended
by saying that they had to adapt to survive in every situation. Importantly, if they had good morale, they believed that they would be able to get through every crisis.

The floodwaters in Wiang Kum Kam, the ancient underground city, have receded, but the large mass of water is still flowing into low-lying areas and flooding houses over a wide area, both in Nong Faek and Nong Phueng sub-districts in Saraphi district. The water level is 50 centimeters high. Some houses are surrounded by the mass of water, becoming islands in the middle of the water, such as Ban Ku Daeng, where people have to eat breakfast in the middle of the water.

While a business in Nong Phueng sub-district notified officials to help move two lions to safety from the rising floodwaters, the two lions were anesthetized before being moved out of their cages to be temporarily cared for by Chiang Mai Nine Safari.

For these two lions, the owners are legally in possession of them. They are a white female lion named Ava and the other is a male n
amed Herin, both about 2 years old. After recovering from the anesthesia, both lions have adjusted well, are healthy, and can move normally. They are waiting until the Conservation Area Administration Office 16 contacts them to take them back to their owners.
