The Department of Highways is mindful of the great kindness of His Majesty the King on ‘King Naresuan the Great Day’ on 13 October, inviting people to pay homage to the royal statue at Lat Pho Health Park, along with turning on the lights of Bhumibol Bridge 1, 2 and Maha Jessadabodin Bridge from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. on 12-14 October 2024.

Mr. Montree Dechasakulsom, Director-General of the Department of Rural Roads (DRR), said that Bhumibol Bridge 1 and Bhumibol Bridge 2 are royal projects initiated by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great to support the transportation of goods from the Bangkok Port to industrial areas in Samut Prakan Province and other regions of the country, preventing trucks from traveling into the city or other directions, which would cause traffic congestion in the surrounding areas. It not only distributes traffic to different directions, but also connects Rat Burana and Yannawa Districts in Bangkok with Phra Pradaeng District in Samut Prakan Province, which is a large indus
trial area.

Under the Bhumibol Bridge 1, 2 or Lat Pho Health Park is another place where people can travel to pay homage to the royal statue and join in remembering the great kindness of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great. People can travel to pay homage every day from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

In addition, the Department of Highways will turn on the decorative lights on the bridges crossing the Chao Phraya River in the Bangkok and surrounding areas on Bhumibol Bridge 1, Bhumibol Bridge 2, and Maha Jessadabodin Bridge between 12-14 October 2024 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. As for October 13, 2024, the decorative lights on the bridge will be turned on from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The public can come and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the bridge on the specified days and times.
