The Chamber of Commerce presents the ‘Sampao-Nawathong’ award for the 3rd year.

The Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand organized the award ceremony for the best government agency in facilitating the business sector, the ‘Sampao-Nawathong’ award for the year 2024, to encourage and honor government agencies that have improved their work processes effectively and effectively reduced obstacles in doing business.

Dr. Sumet Tantivejakul, Director and Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation, presided over the award ceremony and delivered a special speech on ‘Efficiency of Government Agencies and Sustainable National Development’. 39 government agencies received the Sampao-Nawathong Awards and 18 government agencies received certificates of honor. The event was held at the Main Auditorium of the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Sumet said that changes are happening all the time. In the past, the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, Rama IX, stated that we are facing changes. If we cannot adapt in time
, we will be disrupted. He emphasized 3 things to prepare for them: 1) Be aware of globalization, 2) Changes both externally and internally, and 3) Rapid changes in all aspects. Therefore, the public and private sectors must move forward together so that the country can move forward in the right direction.

Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said that the Chamber of Commerce has presented the award for the third time until now. In the past, the Chamber has continued to push for service efficiency, in collaboration with the Public Sector Development Commission and the Department of Business Development, joining forces with 10 government agencies to link data, not request documents, not sign copies, reducing 392 processes, saving more than 7 billion baht per year. The results of the cooperation between the public and private sectors are partly reflected in the IMD World Competitiveness Ranking for 2024, which stated that Thailand has been able to raise its competitiveness by 5 places to 2
5th out of 67 economies worldwide. The agencies that received the award today are considered models for developing and improving work processes to better facilitate the business sector and the public.

Mr. Surong Bulakul, Chairman of the Investment Promotion and Business Facilitation Committee, said that the Golden Ship-Nawathong Award selects outstanding agencies that have significantly improved their processes and reduced obstacles in doing business. This creates cooperation and is a process for correcting and improving related agencies, as well as honoring and publicizing award-winning agencies. The award-winning agencies are evaluated in 3 important dimensions: 1) process efficiency, 2) digital transformation, and 3) performance measurement. In 2024, the awards are divided into 4 categories:

5 Ministry-level agency awards

14 Department Level Agency Awards

6 process level agency awards

Regional Agency Awards, 14 Agencies.
