The Blue Line Senate has selected Boonsong as the candidate for the second vice president of the Senate.

Internal Affairs

Bangkok, The Blue Line Senators have decided on the name of ‘Boonsong’ to compete for the 2nd Vice President of the Senate due to allegations of profiteering from the Senate and borrowing a hand to help ‘Mongkol-Big Kriang’ work, but they are still going to seize the chairman of the committee that corresponds to the ministry, which the Bhumjaithai Party is responsible for – Grade A.

Reporters reported on the movement of the Blue Line Senators, who are the majority Senators in the Senate, numbering about 150 out of the total 200 Senators. In preparing to elect the Senate President and Vice President on July 23, it is certain that the Blue Line Senators will nominate Mr. Mongkol Surassajja, Senator, to compete for the Senate President position, General Kriangkrai Srirak, Senator to compete for the position of First Vice President of the Senate, and Mr. Boonsong Noisophon to compete for the position of Second Vice President of the Senate after a secret meeting at the Pullman Hotel on Soi Rang Nam on July 21. O
nly Senators were called to attend the meeting, and followers or unrelated persons were not allowed to attend. The leaders decided at the last minute to allocate the quota for the Second Vice President of the Senate to Mr. Boonsong Noisophon, an independent Senator, instead of the original two Senate President and Vice President positions with the Blue Line Senators as the majority.

The reporter said that the important reason for allocating the quota of the 2nd Deputy Senate Speaker to the independent senators was to reduce the pressure on the blue-line senators to prevent them from being seen as monopolizing the Senate. In addition, Mr. Boonsong is a former Election Commissioner and former judge, has expertise in the law, and used to work as an advisor to Mr. Supachai Somcharoen, the former 2nd Deputy Senate Speaker in the previous Senate. Therefore, he has good knowledge of the Senate system. He should be assigned to help with legal and Senate system work for Mr. Mongkol, who will be nominated for the Sena
te President, and General Kriangkrai, who will be nominated for the 1st Deputy Senate Speaker, who is not yet skilled and accurate in the law.

As for the chairmanship positions of the Senate Standing Committees, which currently have 26 committees, the number of committees will have to be reduced because this group of senators now has 200 members, down from the original 250. Initially, the blue-line senators have reserved the committee chairmanship quota to match the ministries that the Bhumjaithai Party oversees, such as the chairmanship of the Education Committee, the chairmanship of the Labor Committee, the chairmanship of the Local Administration Committee, the chairmanship of the Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Committee, as well as reserving the chairmanship quota of important Grade A committees for themselves, such as the chairmanship of the Corruption and Misconduct Investigation Committee, the chairmanship of the Military and State Security Committee, the chairmanship of the Transp
ortation Committee, the chairmanship of the Independent Organizations under the Constitution, the chairmanship of the Information Technology, Communication and Telecommunications Committee, the chairmanship of the Agriculture Committee, the chairmanship of the Energy Committee. As for the chairmanship positions of various committees, the blue-line senators will allocate the quota to other senators, which will be negotiated later.
