Thanakorn suggests a dinner with coalition parties on Oct 21 to discuss finding an appropriate solution for the amnesty bill after all parties opposed the blanket amnesty bill. He believes the government should reduce risks and quickly solve the people’s problems. He believes all parties will cooperate to create reconciliation politics.

Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, deputy leader and MP of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, said that as he had discussed in the House of Representatives in the meeting on the agenda to acknowledge the study report on the amnesty bill, he saw that the coalition parties had a clear stance that did not agree or oppose the inclusion of the criminal cases under Sections 110 and 112 of the Criminal Code related to the monarchy in the amnesty pardon because he did not see it as politically motivated and that the defamation case against the monarchy, which is the head of state, was a serious offense that absolutely should not be pardoned. The legal process should be strictly followed.

As
for Mr. Chusak Sirinil, Chairman of the Special Committee to Study the Guidelines for the Amnesty Act, who gave an interview to the media, expressing his opinion that some MPs from other parties still do not understand or may pretend not to understand that it is not the abolition of Section 112, he believes that the government led by the Pheu Thai Party should discuss and discuss to crystallize ideas and reach a common understanding among the coalition parties in order to proceed with considering laws that will be of the greatest benefit to the country and go in the same direction. As for political cases that are not serious, he agrees and supports creating reconciliation, reducing conflict, and solving the problem of ideological division. However, the main stance must be clearly emphasized, whether it is the amendment of the constitution or the amnesty law. It must touch on Sections 1-2, including all important sections related to the monarchy. It is also inappropriate for the House of Representatives to ack
nowledge the study report to the House of Representatives to approve a report that is risky. It should be considered carefully, thoroughly, and correctly, and not in violation of the constitution and ethics.

‘I would like the coalition parties to take the opportunity to have dinner together on Monday, October 21, to discuss the amnesty law to create clarity and the right direction, and to agree on the principle of protecting the monarchy, which is the nation’s main institution. Do not allow any weakening of this important law because it is a risk to the nation’s sovereignty. The government should quickly solve the economic problems of the people as the first priority. It would be better to reduce the risk of creating more ripples and conflicts in society,’ said Thanakorn.
