Nakhon Ratchasima: The Thai futsal team closely monitored the performance of their group rivals, Vietnam and Malaysia, ahead of their own match against Malaysia scheduled for 6:00 p.m. today in the ASEAN Championship.
According to Thai News Agency, the Thai national futsal team, which boasts a record of 16 ASEAN Championship titles, has already made a strong start in the first round with commanding victories, defeating Brunei 14-0 and Timor-Leste 7-1. They are currently participating in the 2024 ASEAN Futsal Championship held at Terminal 21 in Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
Head coach Miguel Rodrigo led his team to observe a crucial group match where Vietnam triumphed over Malaysia, managed by Rakphol Sainetngam, a former coach of the Thai national team, with a score of 2-0. This win places Vietnam on equal footing with Thailand, each securing two victories and six points, but Vietnam holds a better goal difference. ch against Vietnam on November 6.
Meanwhile, Narongsak “Jao Ice” Wingwon, the captain of the Thai national team, acknowledged the upcoming game against Malaysia as a challenging encounter. He noted that the game strategy against Malaysia will differ from their previous matches, emphasizing the team’s preparation to secure a win in their third match of the group stage tonight.
