This afternoon (August 16, 2014), a flash flood from Doi Suthep-Pui peak flowed into Mok Fa Waterfall in Doi Suthep-Pui National Park in Chiang Mai. The mass of flash flood water caused the waterfall to rise rapidly. The water current was fast-flowing and muddy red. Mr. Phuphichit Chuaybamrung, Chief of Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, announced the temporary closure of Mok Fa Waterfall, not allowing the public or tourists to enter the area to prevent danger from flash floods until the flash flood situation returns to normal. At the same time, park officials have provided explanations to tourists and surveyed natural tourist attractions and waterfalls in Doi Suthep-Pui National Park to prevent damage from flash floods and flash floods, as well as monitoring the amount of rainfall on the mountaintop, as it continues to rain intermittently
