The ex-girlfriend has turned herself in after throwing acid at a young man in Pak Nam in the middle of the night. Her 8-year-old daughter was slightly injured by the stray bullet. The mother of the perpetrator revealed that her daughter was abused by the man until she miscarried.
At 11:40 p.m. yesterday (October 11, 2014), officers from Samut Prakan City Police Station received a report that two people had been injured after being splashed with acid in Soi Phatthanivet, Theparak Road, Tambon Bang Muang, Amphoe Mueang, Samut Prakan Province. After receiving the report, they contacted the Samut Prakan Rescue Association to travel to inspect the scene.
The scene of the incident was a two-story townhouse. On the body floor, an injured person was found, identified as Mr. Thiraphong Chuchai, age 38, with wounds from an unknown type of acid thrown on his leg. There were several blistering wounds. Another injured person, an 8-year-old girl, the injured person’s daughter, was injured in both ankles by stray bullets
. Officers rushed to give her first aid before sending her to the hospital.
From the inspection inside the house, in front of the bathroom, acid was found flowing all over the pants, towels and fan. There were burn marks from corrosion. When asked, Mr. Thiraphong (the injured person) said that the perpetrator was his ex-girlfriend, whom he had been with for about a year and had just broken up not long ago. At the time of the incident, he was taking a shower in the house. When he finished taking a shower and opened the bathroom door, he found his ex-girlfriend standing in front of the door. Then, when the ex-girlfriend saw him, she immediately splashed water on him and then walked out without saying anything. The day before the incident, the ex-girlfriend also threw water at his niece. The cause is believed to be a grudge because he had broken up with her a while ago because during the time they were together, they often had problems arguing and using violence to smash things in the house. After the incident,
he fled to the house he rented next door.
The latest, after Mr. Thiraphong (the injured person) returned from the hospital, he traveled to meet the investigation officer at Samut Prakan City Police Station to file a complaint about the incident on the charge of attempted murder because the perpetrator broke into the house and threw acid, causing 2 injuries. The investigation officer has scheduled additional questioning on October 16.
As for the ex-girlfriend (the perpetrator), this morning officers from Samut Prakan City Police Station invited her to their home for further questioning, with the perpetrator’s mother traveling with her.
The mother of the perpetrator revealed to reporters that three days ago, her daughter was attacked by the man until she miscarried, which was about ten days pregnant.
