“Somsak” tells coalition parties to accept new innovation standards after “Settha” was slaughtered over qualifications
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Somsak Thepsuthin spoke about the stricter examination of ministerial qualifications, saying that the qualification standards for politicians used on former Prime Minister Settha Thavisin were already clearly bruised. The use of such standards in future applications must follow the norm, which must be accepted that there may be some bruising, but it will be a new norm that must be accepted, that the country has changed in terms of laws that are being used more forcefully. Therefore, all parties must be able to adjust.
As for many ministers who were in the original cabinet, their qualifications will be examined and they may not be able to return to the new cabinet. Will this become a conflict between the coalition parties? Mr. Somsak believes that there should not be any conflict, but the impacts that occur must be accepted because the cou
ntry must move forward. The country is changing with new innovations.
As for the proportion of ministers of the Pheu Thai Party, Mr. Somsak said that he saw from the news that Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, acting as Prime Minister, had to submit the list by today (20 August). As for whether he would continue for the 17th term or not, he did not dare to answer anything.
The reporter then asked him if he had filled out the ministerial qualifications. Mr. Somsak smiled and replied, ‘Not yet.’
