Acting Commander of the Bangkok Special Prison revealed that the ‘Boss Kant-Boss Sam’ group agreed to be quarantined as ‘Boss Paul’s’ companion for a total of 6 days. The prison sent a psychologist and a technical nurse to monitor their symptoms 24 hours a day. He admitted that everyone was stressed. As for ‘Boss Min’s’ symptoms, they are improving and have started to adjust.
After yesterday (18 October) “Boss Paul” was sent to prison as the last person, today Mr. Pramote Thongsri, a penology expert acting as the commander of the Bangkok Special Prison, stated that this morning he went to inspect the prison for new inmates sent yesterday and had a discussion with Mr. Waratphon or Boss Paul about their rights.
He also asked about the other bosses who had come in before whether they agreed to let Boss Paul come in for quarantine as well. All 10 bosses before this allowed Boss Paul to come in for quarantine and were happy to extend the quarantine to 6 days, starting from the beginning with Boss Paul for the pe
ace of mind and safety of the inmates. Relatives and friends will be able to visit again on October 23rd, but lawyers can visit immediately via conference.
The last detained Boss Paul ate a little. Neither Boss Paul nor the other bosses made any special demands. Everyone was stressed and anxious as usual. They were closely monitored by a psychologist and a technical nurse.
When asked if the inmates can talk about the case during the group quarantine, Mr. Pramote replied that the inmates are currently fighting the case. There is no verdict from the court. They are considered innocent. They can talk about the case. However, they must be very concerned about their safety because celebrities or famous people come into the prison. It is normal for there to be people who like them and people who don’t. Therefore, there must be constant surveillance. There are CCTV cameras 24 hours a day to monitor their symptoms and safety. Since this morning until now, no one of Boss’s lawyers has visited because today is a holi
day.
At the Central Women’s Correctional Institution, reporters asked Mrs. Kanokwan Jiwchuephan, Director of the Dental Division, Acting Director of the Central Women’s Correctional Institution, about Min Pechaya’s condition after she ate little yesterday due to gastritis. The Director stated that she had been given medication to relieve her stomachache and her condition had improved and she was able to eat. From observing Min’s condition and the other bosses’, they were still anxious as usual. However, on the second night, everyone was able to adjust, but they still had to be monitored.
When asked if all the female bosses had completed their COVID-19 quarantine, would it be possible to meet Ms. Korkanok or Mae Tak in the detention area during the trial, the deputy spokesperson of the department confirmed that there was a chance of them meeting because Ms. Korkanok or Mae Tak had previously been detained at the Central Women’s Correctional Institution on October 1st, until she developed stress-related stoma
ch problems. The prison doctor examined her and suggested sending Mae Tak to the prison hospital for treatment starting Friday, October 11th.
Until yesterday (18 October), her condition improved, so the doctor sent a letter to take her back to the detention center while the case was being considered. Therefore, all the female bosses have the chance to meet with Mother Tak in the detention center.
While Mr. Kantpol or Pa Beer is currently being held in Zone 2 of the Bangkok Special Prison, whether he will have the opportunity to meet the male bosses when his COVID-19 quarantine is complete, he cannot answer that yet because he has to wait for the Bangkok Special Prison to consider later which zone the male bosses will be separated into.
