Seized 5.3 million methamphetamine pills, worth over 100 million baht

Saraburi, 8 Oct. – The Saraburi Provincial Police Investigation Division, together with military officers, expanded the investigation and arrested a suspect with more than 5.3 million methamphetamine pills, worth more than 100 million baht.

The arrest of the suspects with methamphetamine pills this time was a result of the police from the 1st Region Police Narcotics Suppression Operations Unit 2 and the military intelligence unit of the Special Warfare Command Operations Center jointly investigating and expanding the results from the arrest of major drug cases in Wang Noi District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province and Phra Phutthabat District, Saraburi Province (27 Sep 67). They learned that the drug trafficking gang would transport drugs from a neighboring country through Phetchabun Province to dealers in the inner part of the country. They then drove into the parking lot behind a convenience store in Khao Din Phatthana Subdistrict, Chaloem Phra Kiat District. The arresting team therefore identified themselves and inspected the area and took both of them into custody. A search of the vehicles found 12 sacks of methamphetamine pills, approximately 5,390,000 pills, and impounded 2 vehicles before pressing charges. The suspect confessed that he transported the drugs from Phetchabun Province to deliver to customers in the inner region. Mr. Sarawut, the drug transport driver, was paid 70,000 baht, while Mr. Kritsana, the driver, was paid 20,000 baht. If all the methamphetamine pills were released to the market, the value would be approximately 107 million baht. – Thai News Agency
