SCG explains TPC fire affects sales by 0.04 percent

SCG explains that the fire at TPC affected sales by 0.04 percent, stressing that TPC closely monitors and takes care of the safety of the community.

Yesterday (22 September), there was an explosion and fire at a PVC precursor production plant of Thai Plastic and Chemicals Public Company Limited (TPC) in the SCG Group at Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, Rayong Province. No one was injured. The incident was caused by a leak of precursors in the PVC production process.

Mr. Thammasak Sethaudom, Chief Executive Officer of Siam Cement Public Company Limited (SCC), explained to the Stock Exchange of Thailand that TPC, a subsidiary of SCC in the Chemicals business group, disclosed the fire incident and smoke in the factory area, which occurred at 12.10 p.m. and the incident was extinguished at 3.05 p.m. of the same day. SCC would like to inform that the impact on sales from the incident is 0.04 percent of SCG’s sales. Although the incident has subsided, TPC continues to closely monitor and take care of the safety of the community and air quality.
