Santhiya’ petitions NACC to investigate ‘Suriya-Transport’ for negligence, causing bus fire that killed students

Mr. Sonthiya Sawasdee, former advisor to the House of Representatives’ Committee on Law, Justice and Human Rights, submitted a letter to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to investigate the negligence of the Ministry of Transport, which resulted in the deaths of 23 students and teachers and injuries to 3 others. He stated that on October 3, he submitted a petition to the Ministry of Transport regarding the Shinbut Tour bus accident that resulted in the deaths of 23 teachers and students, and 3 more being hospitalized. He requested that strict action be taken, such as suspending five officers from the Department of Land Transport in Sing Buri Province and investigating Shinbut Tour for intentionally modifying the bus, which led to the accident.

Mr. Sonthiya said that today he has not seen any progress from the Minister of Transport on what to do, so he came to file a complaint with t
he Ministry of Transport, Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, the Deputy Minister of Transport, the Director-General of the Department of Land Transport, the Department of Land Transport of Singburi Province, including all 6 tour buses, to the NACC to proceed according to the Constitution, Section 234 (2) and Section 235 to investigate and investigate completely and decisively so that this incident does not happen to the people again.
