‘Royal Animal Feed’ to Help Elephants Affected by Floods, Delivered to Mae Taeng

Chiang Mai, Oct 8 – The Livestock Department has delivered ‘Royal Animal Feed’ to help elephant camps affected by floods in Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province. The storage point is the Plant Genetic Conservation Project initiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, which will be distributed to affected elephant camps.

Veterinarian Somchuan Rattanamangkalanon, Director-General of the Department of Livestock Development, revealed that he has assigned Veterinarian Prabhas Pinyochip, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Livestock Development, and Mr. Phongsaphan Thamma, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Livestock Development, to lead officers from the Department of Livestock Development to deliver ‘Royal Animal Feed Grass’ to help elephant camps affected by floods in Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province. The grass delivered to help elephant camps in Mae Taeng District can be fed to elephants, cows, buffaloes, goats, and sheep. Both fresh and dry grass were brought,
divided into 3,000 kilograms of fresh grass and 32,000 kilograms of dry grass, totaling 35,000 kilograms or 35 tons. In delivering the ‘Royal Animal Feed Grass’ to help elephant camps in Mae Taeng District this time, the Department of Livestock Development, together with Mr. Chainarong Nantasai, Mae Taeng District Chief, and Lieutenant Colonel Watchara Thuksuwan, Commander of the 7th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion, delivered it to the Plant Genetic Conservation Project. Under the initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, the Kued Chang Subdistrict Local Conservation and Development Center is used as a place to store animal feed to distribute to various elephant camps affected in the area.
