Treasury – Government Savings Bank – Government Lottery Office to travel to “Phang Nga” on 14 Aug. to promote “Retirement Lottery”, set up a forum to listen to public opinions

The Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the National Savings Fund (NSF), the Fiscal Policy Office (FPO), and the Government Lottery Office, are preparing to travel to the South to implement the ‘Mobile Retirement Lottery by NSF’ project for the second time in Phang Nga Province. They are also inviting interested Phang Nga residents to join the seminar ‘New Vision Retirement Lottery Savings for an Aging Society’ led by Dr. Paopum Rojanasakul, Deputy Minister of Finance; Dr. Warothai Kosolpisitkul, International Economic Advisor, Fiscal Policy Office; Lt. Col. Noon Sansanakom, Director of the Government Lottery Office; and Ms. Charulak Ruangsuwan, Secretary-General of the National Savings Fund Committee, at the Mai Fah Room, Le Erawan Phang Nga Hotel, Mueang District, Phang Nga Province, on August 14 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

he purpose of this field visit is to accelerate awareness among the public about the implementation of the ‘Retirement Savings Lottery’ policy and to listen to public opinions in order to improve the policy to be comprehensive and meet the needs of the public as much as possible.

However, in terms of the initial criteria for the ‘Retirement Savings Lottery’, the eligible buyers are 1. GSF members, 2. Section 40 insured persons, and 3. Informal workers. The lottery is a digital scratch-off ticket, sold at 50 baht per ticket, with a maximum purchase of 3,000 baht per month. The lottery is drawn every Friday, with two prizes: 1st prize of 1 million baht (5 prizes) and 2nd prize of 1,000 baht (10,000 prizes). The lottery purchase money will be saved in the GSF account of the lottery buyer, regardless of whether or not they win. They can receive the money back when they reach the age of 60. However, if they win, they can receive the money immediately. The details are in accordance with the Cabinet resolution appr
oving the guidelines for the ‘Retirement Savings Lottery’ project on July 16, 2024 (subject to change). The GSF Act is currently being amended.
