Ranking NPA leader falls in Isabela

Members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) have arrested a ranking leader of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Isabela. In a statement Wednesday, CIDG director Maj. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr. said the suspect Romeo Cudal, 66, alias ‘Ramon Daniel Luis /Ka Mon/Ka Paoy/Ka Nick/Ka Rito/Ka Noni’, was arrested in Barangay Andres Bonifacio, Diffun, Quirino province on July 16. Cudal is wanted by the Ilagan City, Isabela Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 18 for kidnapping and serious illegal detention charges issued in March 2018. The suspect has also a bounty of PHP750,000 under joint orders from the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Department of National Defense. “The accused Cudal is included in the CIDG’s priority target list as Top 4 wanted person who belongs to the NPA’s Komiteng Probinsiya Isabela, Komiteng Rehiyon-Cagayan Valley and Top 10 sa KLG-QNV/RSDG, KR-CV. We also learned that he was designated as the finance/economic officer of the Central Front and Secretary of SPP-GANI, Southern Front ,” Caramat said. Pending the return of the warrant to the issuing court, the accused remains in the custody of the Diffun Municipal Police Station
