PT Pos Indonesia helping MSMEs utilize digitalization

Jakarta (ANTARA) – State-owned postal company PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) is helping micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the country to utilize digitalization or make the transition to digital platforms.There are currently 64 million MSMEs in Indonesia, but only 19.5 million have joined the digitalecosystem, PT Pos Indonesia’s (Persero) Courier and Logistics Business DirectorSiti Choiriana noted in a statement issued on Wednesday.

President Joko Widodo has issued an instruction to expedite the digital transformation of Indonesian MSMEs. The government is targeting to help 30 million MSMEs transition to the digital ecosystem by 2024.

“Concerning this, we seek to help encourage MSMEs to improve by going digital, going online, going commerce, and going global by encouraging them to utilize PT Pos Indonesia’s courier and logistics service,” she said.

Pos Indonesia is currently providing a warehouse called Stori, which is a fulfillment service based on a digital platform, or what is usually called a cloud store.

ccording to Choiriana, Stori is spread across more than 150 locations across Indonesia and will continue to expand as companies transition to online businesses, which are oriented toward operational effectiveness improvement.

PT Pos Indonesia will help businesses optimize repetitive operational activities such as inbound, quality control, shelving, packing, labeling, order process, and delivery.

“We present Stori to MSMEs to store their products free of charge. Once their products are sold out, they will be imposed with a fee. With it, the market access will be open,” she informed.

PT Pos Indonesia will not only focus on warehouse services to help MSMEs, but also collaborate with various parties.

Moreover, the company and other parties will support funding access so that MSMEs can produce more and conduct joint marketing.
