Bangkok: The Prime Minister has instructed the Ministry of Finance to expedite the monitoring of government budget disbursement, addressing concerns over the effective use of investment funds. Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, the government spokesman, disclosed these directives during a cabinet meeting, emphasizing the need for collaboration among various ministries to ensure the successful implementation of government policies.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister’s directives were highlighted in a meeting with permanent secretaries and equivalent officials from government agencies. The Ministry of Finance was specifically urged to focus on the prompt disbursement of the government’s investment budget, with the Office of the Civil Service Commission (OCSC) tasked with closely monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to budget allocation to stimulate the Thai economy.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister called for all governmental agencies to align their data-sharing practices with the Digital Gove
rnment policy. Ministries such as the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Interior, along with other relevant departments, were instructed to urgently develop measures to support urban expansion and revise urban planning strategies. This initiative aims to accommodate industrial growth in areas like Chonburi, Rayong, and Chachoengsao provinces within the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and prevent overpopulation in urban centers.
