Prasert’ points out that there is a law to investigate digital money lines after finding out about moving out of the country, stating that there are hundreds of thousands of people involved, so it will take time to investigate. Revealed that next week, the fact-finding committee of the Consumer Protection Board officers involved in the Icon will report the progress. Announced that no matter who is on the side, they must be held accountable.

Mr. Prasert Chantarawongthong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society, who oversees the Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office who oversees the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB), talked about the progress after appointing a fact-finding committee in the case of the Office of the Consumer Protection Board’s performance regarding online businesses and setting up a subcommittee to investigate, saying that there has been no progress report yet, but he has ordered the committee to report within the next week, which is currently in the p
rocess of being worked on.

In the case of the transfer of digital currency, what will the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society do? Mr. Prasert stated that he has instructed the Anti-Money Laundering Office (

AMLO) to monitor and investigate. Yesterday (October 18), they talked and found that there were many financial trails and hundreds of thousands of people involved. Therefore, this matter will take time. He confirmed that Thai law can reach it. It is not a matter of the law not reaching it. It is the enforcement of the law according to the accusation because there are victims who have filed complaints. He also stated that it will not take long to unravel the financial trails because he has been working with the Central Investigation Bureau. He believes that the police are expediting the process. The fact-finding committee that we have set up and given 30 days is also expediting the work. Both parties must work together and must report and clarify to the public.

When asked about the officials in the C
onsumer Protection Board who were involved in registering The Icon Group, how will they be monitored? Mr. Prasert said that he wanted it to be clear who they were. Right now, they are in the process of collecting evidence, both from the Consumer Protection Board and any related departments that have news about them, including those related to the committee.

Apart from the politicians in the news, are there any more? Mr. Prasert said that we cannot yet specify. We need to get enough information first. We need to unravel the financial trail to connect all the people involved.

As for the case where the names of the officials in the Consumer Protection Board appear in the news as being involved with the said company, should they be ordered to stop performing their duties first? Mr. Prasert said that in this matter, Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, is the person overseeing this matter. He thinks that she will not let any damage occur.

Many parties are worried that the investiga
tion will not reach the big boss, who is called a big angel, Mr. Prasert confirmed that there is no need to worry. The government is confident that if the investigation reaches anyone, whether they are politicians, civil servants, private individuals, or celebrities, they will be held accountable, regardless of which side they are on. He believes that it will be extended to the various camp leaders. We are taking action.
