The Royal Thai Police commend two Khon Kaen highway police officers for calling an ambulance in time to save the life of a driver who was having a seizure. The relatives thanked the two police officers for their help until he was safe and discharged from the hospital.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Nitithorn Chintakanon, Commander of the Royal Thai Police Commissioner’s Office, as the Head of the Traffic Police Image Enhancement Division, Traffic Work Team, Royal Thai Police (TMC), praised two Highway Police officers from Highway Police Division 2, Sub-Division 4, Highway Police Division (Khon Kaen) who provided timely assistance to a member of the public who was having a seizure while driving until he was safe. He received gratitude from the victim’s relatives and praise from witnesses and many people on social media.
The incident occurred on August 8, 2024 at approximately 11:00 p.m. Mr. Waratit Sriburom drove home. However, he had convulsions and could not breathe on the way. He stopped the car on the side of the road t
o observe his symptoms, but he could not help himself. Later, Pol. Lt. Pratuang Neungthaban and Pol. Sgt. Piyaphat Charoenpong Chaimanee, highway police officers from Highway Police Division 2, Sub-Division 4, Highway Police Division (Khon Kaen), drove a radio vehicle 4216 to inspect the area and found him. They immediately provided first aid and called an ambulance to take him to Phon Hospital, Khon Kaen Province, where he was safe. Yesterday (August 16, 2024) at 5:00 p.m., Mr. Waratit’s mother and relatives traveled to thank Pol. Lt. Pratuang and Pol. Sgt. Piyaphat Charoenpong, the police officers who provided timely assistance to their son until he was out of danger and was able to return home to rest and recover. He is now able to go to work as usual.
In addition, Pol. Lt. Gen. Nitithorn said that the performance of the two highway police officers was a true use of wit and the spirit of a peacekeeper. They noticed an unusual event and did not ignore it. They immediately provided assistance to the people.
He also recommended that if the people who drive experience an incident like this and find something wrong with themselves or their vehicle, they should immediately reduce their speed, park on the left side, and immediately turn on their hazard lights. Then, if they can report or ask for help, they should immediately notify the police 24 hours a day.
