Police of the Technology Crime Suppression Division “suppress counterfeit, shut down” substandard products, counterfeit thousands of famous brands, sent for sale nationwide.
Police from the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) seized
2,551 pieces of shirts and pants, the brands Champions, Tommy and Boss, for the offense of “having for sale goods with counterfeit trademarks of another person that are already registered in the Kingdom.” They seized a 3-story, 3-unit commercial building on Chachoengsao-Bangpakong Road, Na Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chachoengsao Province.
Before the incident, the police were notified by Mr. Chayakorn Kosol, a sub-agent from HBI Branded Apparel Enterprises LLC, that the building where the incident occurred was selling substandard quality shirts and pants and counterfeiting trademarks of others that were already registered in the Kingdom, in violation of the Trademark Act B.E. 2534. The police therefore collected evidence and used a search warrant from the Centra
l Intellectual Property and International Trade Court to search. The search found substandard quality shirts and pants from the brands Champions, Tommy, and Boss. Mr. Chayakorn, a sub-agent from the company, confirmed the products and their quality. The police seized the evidence and sent them to the investigation officer of Division 1, Economic Crime Suppression Division, for legal proceedings.
Also, I would like to advise the public not to support counterfeit clothing, which is often of substandard quality. Although these counterfeit clothing looks similar to the real thing, most of them use cheap materials and substandard manufacturing processes. They usually do not last as long as the real thing. They may use cheap fibers instead of the high-quality fabrics used in authentic products. Counterfeit clothing often lacks reliable after-sales service. Authentic brands usually provide complete after-sales protection, including return and exchange policies, quality guarantees, etc., to ensure that consumers rec
eive their rights and benefits.
