Pol. Col. Thawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice, mentioned about following up on the progress of the fraud case of The Icon Group Company, which has many victims, that the police are prosecuting the case on the charge of public fraud, not yet pressing charges under the Royal Decree on Loans or Ponzi Schemes because Ponzi schemes may expect income from members, there may or may not be products, and there must be other criteria to consider. However, in the case of fraud, the police can take action immediately. He also praised the police for taking action quickly, using more than 50 investigators. If they want to use the power of special case investigators, such as bringing prosecutors to join the investigation or access certain information, they can use the special case law channel.

Pol
. Col. Thawee added that in cases like this, officials want to return the assets to the victims or victims, so he ordered the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to investigate money laundering. The value of the damages in cases exceeding 300 million baht can be investigated through the financial trail because the most important thing is to help people in civil cases by filing group lawsuits in consumer protection cases to track down the assets. Initially, it was known that the value of the assets involved was more than 700 million baht.

As for the observation that those involved in this case, such as the network, including both police and prosecutors, will be involved, will it affect the case or not? Pol. Col. Tawi said that the public’s confidence is that the people working must not be biased. The current government is trying to make work at all levels without bias in every matter and will let the witnesses and evidence speak. -317.-Thai News Agency
