BANGKOK, Dinosaur replicas will not be put on display at Government House lawn on the National Children’s Day this year, said Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin.
The life-size dinosaur models were installed by the Department of Mineral Resources at Government House for the past several years on the Children’s Day, annually celebrated on the second Saturday of January.
When asked about the inclusion of dinosaur exhibits at this year’s National Children’s Day event at Government House, the Prime Minister chuckled and responded, ‘No, dinosaurs are extinct.’
In a surprising move, the Prime Minister announced his decision to spend the night at Government House on January 24 as it is an auspicious day and he has no travel plan for official duties.
He will attend a meeting in Davos, Switzerland from Jan 14-19 and will visit Chiang Mai from Jan 19-21.
He also said about the planned visit to the southern border provinces in February that he would not stay in military camps but opted for regular hotels.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by the border provinces, he expressed the need to create hope and inspiration for the residents.
