PM holds bilateral talks with Iranian leader, confirms Thailand is ready to support Middle East peace

Prime Minister Paethongtarn” held bilateral talks with Iranian leader, confirming that Thailand is ready to support peace together in the Middle East.

Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, held bilateral discussions with Mr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during the 3rd Asia Cooperation Dialogue Summit (ACD)

The Prime Minister confirmed Thailand’s readiness to cooperate with the Islamic Republic of Iran, which in 2025 will be the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Iran. The Prime Minister hopes to work closely together and proposes ways to jointly organize activities to celebrate this important occasion next year, such as in culture and sports, and also invited the President of Iran to pay an official visit to Thailand.

The Iranian President stated that Iran is ready to cooperate with Thailand in areas where they have mutual potential and raised the situation in Gaza and Lebanon and asked Thailand to su
pport peace in the Middle East. The Prime Minister confirmed that Thailand is ready to support peace together in the Middle East and believes that this ACD forum will be another important opportunity to bring together leaders from all sides who will be able to create peace in the world.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to Mr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, for his assistance in negotiating the release of the Thai hostages in the past and asked for support in negotiating the release of 6 more Thai hostages.
