“Pita” asks “Move Forward” to be the last party to be dissolved in the overthrow case

Pita” asks “Move Forward” to be the last party to be dissolved in the overthrow case after “Thirayut” submitted a request to punish “Pheu Thai”, slamming that there is only one case of overthrowing the government in Thailand: a “coup”. He urged all political parties to help amend the constitution. He asked for the reason why “Bhumjaithai” sent a signal to society after changing the referendum law.

Mr. Pita Limjaroenrat, former leader of the Move Forward Party, gave an interview about the case where Mr. Thirayut Suwannakasorn filed a petition for the Constitutional Court to rule and order Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, former Prime Minister, and the Pheu Thai Party to stop the actions that are the exercise of rights and freedoms that will lead to the overthrow of the democratic regime with the King as head of state according to Article 49 of the Constitution. He emphasized that it would be a confirmation that all political parties should help amend the constitution on ethics because ethics are a good thing that shou
ld exist in society, but they should not be used as weapons to destroy each other. If there is a complaint, there should be a punishment that is proportionate to the complaint. What society jointly promotes is seeing which ethics are appropriate or inappropriate and should not be used as punishment or deprivation of political rights. This should be one point that allows politicians from all parties to discuss this issue together and say that the constitution should be amended.

As for how he would encourage the Pheu Thai Party, Mr. Pita said that he would still stand by his previous statement that he wanted the Move Forward Party to be the last party to encounter something like this. He wanted this kind of action to be stopped, but if something like this were to happen, the punishment must be proportionate, not dismissing the prime minister elected by the people or dissolving the party appointed by the people. This should no longer exist in Thai politics. The only way to overthrow the government in Thailand i
s through a coup, and he did not want to see the Pheu Thai Party dissolved.

When asked if submitting the petition to Mr. Thirayut would be like revealing who was behind the dissolution of the Move Forward Party, Mr. Pita stated that he did not care about that matter, but thought that it was a process that should not waste time and distract her. Ms. Paethongtarn must also focus on solving the country’s problems. She should not waste time on something like this.

What do you think about the accusation that the Move Forward Party is not the only one being accused of overthrowing the government? Mr. Pita said that the abnormality in a democratic system will become normal, like the 12 coups in Thailand that felt normal. When there is a process like this, everyone will guess that it will definitely be bad. But no one should lose focus on this kind of thing. That focus should be used to make competing policies so that the people will benefit the most.

Mr. Pita also mentioned the case of Mr. Newin Chidchob, chairma
n of Buriram United Club, and Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, who went to eat at the Chan Song La house, saying that he did not know about the personal matters, what they talked about. In big politics, the people should be an important part in thinking about things. People have been telling me all the time, but it is not an important point that we have to focus on. We should focus on things that we can control. But if there is anything he wants to say to the People’s Party, he would say to focus a lot on the people.

As for the case where the Bhumjaithai Party abstained from voting on the draft referendum bill (No. …) B.E. … which the Senate amended to use a two-tier majority, will this reflect whether or not the Bhumjaithai Party is the core of the government? Mr. Pita said that he was confused about this matter because on August 21, the party voted to pass, but this time they abstained. He had to go back and ask the Bhumjaithai Party what signal they wanted to send to society,
whether it was about holding a referendum or what the reasons were that they had different ideas within a period of more than a month. He would have to ask the Bhumjaithai Party.
