Internal Affairs

“Phumtham”, Minister of Defense, held the first meeting of the NCPO, establishing a One Stop Service integration center to solve problems quickly, focusing on the people.

Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, chaired the 1/2567 meeting of the Operations Center for Flood, Storm and Landslide Relief or (OCSC), which was attended by 22 relevant agencies, such as Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Mr. Prasert Chanruangthong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society, Ms. Thirarat Samretwanich, Deputy Minister of Interior, representatives of the Armed Forces, representatives of the Budget Bureau, and the Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.

The meeting agenda is to consider the format of the working group for the operation center for flood, storm and mudslide relief, which is responsible for compiling the situation, integrating and linking water resource information, analy
zing weather conditions, to warn and create awareness. In addition, it also coordinates disaster relief, maintains the safety of life and property of disaster victims, prepares shelters, and invites individuals and agencies to attend meetings to report to the CPOC periodically, including the format of reporting the results of the situation monitoring meeting. For the CPOC operation location, the 3rd floor of the original OCSC office on Phitsanulok Road will be used to monitor the situation. A LINE group will be set up to coordinate the “CPOC Coordination Group”. In addition, there will be adjustments to the guidelines for providing assistance to disaster victims, such as the guidelines for paying compensation according to the original criteria, the guidelines for paying compensation in special cases, and measures to alleviate the burden of electricity bills. Consider not collecting electricity bills in September 2024 and providing a 30% discount on electricity bills for October.

Mr. Phumtham said that the ur
gent and important matter is that the people are facing the disaster in the North and Northeast. Some of it has been resolved, but another storm is coming in the Northeast and North, which is a depression level. The important thing is to complete the old pending matters due to accumulated problems and waiting for the compensation process. When it becomes a chain reaction, the details and directions must be set in line.

‘The key is to be fast and prepare for the people or citizens who are targeted and take action to solve the problem quickly. All agencies must be integrated to join in and take action immediately. Make everything a One Stop Service. The duty is to hold a meeting to give orders and direct in order to report to the general meeting for acknowledgement.
