Pheu Thai Party allows government whip to decide on bringing the results of the study on the amnesty bill to the parliament.

Internal Affairs

Pheu Thai has asked the government whip to consider submitting the results of the study on the amnesty bill to the parliament. It is expected that it will be postponed after tomorrow (October 16) there will be an urgent motion on the pyramid scheme case for consideration.

Reporters reported that today (October 15), there was a weekly meeting of Pheu Thai Party MPs, chaired by Mr. Surawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports, as Secretary-General of the Pheu Thai Party, and Mr. Wisut Chainarun, MP for the party list, as Chairman of the Pheu Thai Party MPs. The meeting discussed the report of the Special Committee to Study the Guidelines for the Enactment of the Amnesty Act, which will enter the agenda for consideration in the House meeting on October 17, as the MPs were concerned about the observations made regarding the amnesty under Section 112 of the Criminal Code. However, since Mr. Chusak Sirinil, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, as Chairman of the Special Committee, did not attend the mee
ting, the Pheu Thai Party is still unclear about the final direction of the study.

In addition, there are news reports that the Pheu Thai Party meeting has ordered the government whips to meet on October 16 to find a conclusion on the matter and to move in the same direction. It is highly likely that this agenda will be postponed because on that day there will be an urgent oral motion requesting the House to study the problem and amend the law to prevent businesses that are in the nature of borrowing money to defraud the public or pyramid schemes, which is expected to have a large number of debaters. There is also a report on the results of the consideration of the study to solve the problem of integrated waste and environmental management that was pending from the House meeting last week. -316- Thai News Agency
