Chiang Rai, OR aims to promote the ‘Sustainable Coffee Plantation Development Project’ and the ‘Thai Det Project’ in the northern region.

Mr. Disatat Panyarachun, Chief Executive Officer of PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR), along with executives, visited the Thai Det community enterprise and followed up on the progress of the sustainable coffee cultivation development project in Chiang Rai Province, which is an example of OR’s success in community development, taking into account the environment and the focus on creating a clean society. OR aims to expand the results to other areas, reflecting OR’s commitment to creating opportunities and sustainably developing the quality of life of communities.

Mr. Disatat revealed that the Organic Heart New Generation Farmers Community Enterprise is a group of farmers in Wiang Chai District, Chiang Rai Province, one of the producers of Khun Nai brand organic rice, which is a 100% organic rice product from farmers. It has joined the Thai Det projec
t that OR has been committed to organizing since 2018 to support quality community products nationwide. It has opened sales areas through Thai Det shops in PTT stations. Currently, there are more than 1,000 Thai Det products and more than 300 Thai Det shops nationwide.

OR’s sustainable coffee plantation development project in Ban Phalang, Tambon Huai Chomphu, Chiang Rai Province, has 92 farmers participating in the project on 1,000 rai of Arabica coffee plantation, and Ban Pangkhon, Tambon Huai Chomphu, has 74 farmers participating in 1,400 rai of Arabica coffee plantation. From 2018-2024, OR has purchased coffee products from Ban Phalang worth 68 million baht and from Pangkhon worth a total of 83.5 million baht, generating a total income of 151.5 million baht for both communities. These products have been developed into drip coffee and capsule coffee products from Phalang and Pangkhon of Café Amazon, which is in line with OR’s goal of improving farmers’ quality of life by creating a market for purchasing co
ffee products with a fair price system, as well as developing knowledge and skills in growing and producing coffee to meet Café Amazon’s quality standards, promoting farmers to be self-reliant sustainably, as well as creating other benefits such as job creation, skill development, and improving quality of life.

In addition, the Thai Det project and the Sustainable Coffee Planting Development Project are also in line with the concept of ‘OR, Opportunity for a Clean Society’, in which OR is ready to drive community businesses, society, and the environment forward together sustainably.
