“Nantana” insists she is not bullying after yesterday’s criticism of choosing the wrong committee member. The pork seller is in the Political Development Committee. She pointed out that it must match knowledge and ability. She did not answer whether she had to apologize or not. “Red Senator” did not respond to the media. He smiled wryly before walking into the meeting room immediately.

Ms. Nantana Nantawaropas, Senator, said about the names on the Senate Committee on Education, Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation that there were exactly 18 candidates on that committee, so there was no vote-off. However, for the Senate Committee on Political Development, Public Participation, Human Rights, Rights, Liberties and Consumer Protection, there were more candidates than on that committee, so there was a vote-off.

When asked whether she would propose herself to be the chairman of the Education Committee, Ms. Nantana said that she would propose according to her rights because she considered herself to
have the knowledge, ability, and experience in education. She personally thought that education was a major problem for the country. If there was no education reform, Thailand would not be able to compete with the world community. Therefore, education reform was an important mission that she thought she would push for during her tenure.

As for yesterday (23 September) when it was stated that a pork seller was selected as a member of the Political Development Committee, people saw it as bullying and degrading. Ms. Nantana said that in the interview yesterday, she clearly explained that the various committees that were placed should first be selected based on the professional qualifications of each person. The senators are different from the MPs because they come from 20 professional groups. Therefore, they should be considered based on the professional groups that they are joining. In addition, yesterday it was stated that the political development group, the people who should be in this committee should have
experience in working in politics, human rights, and political communication. People with different qualifications are not degraded, but they should be in other committees that are in line with their professions. Therefore, she did not want it to be interpreted that the statement that the Political Development Committee, which she had experience in, was voted out, but people who did not have the experience, who came from other professions, were able to be here, was not bullying. If you listen to the whole thing, you will know that what was explained was that all the committee members should be placed in the professions that they are senators in that group.

Ms. Nantana reiterated that if the wrong person is wrong from the beginning, the chance of pushing the agenda to success will be low or almost non-existent. Therefore, we demand that the senators be put into the committees with the right qualifications, which will be of the greatest benefit to the people.

When asked if she needed to apologize to society f
or speaking harshly, Ms. Nantana said that if you listen to the entire interview, you will understand the context. She gave an example to show that this kind of allocation is unfair. She did not intend to bully or devalue anyone. This is an example of personnel who did not meet her knowledge and abilities.

Reporters reported that while Ms. Nantana was giving an interview, it turned out that Ms. Daeng Kongma, the senator who was implicated as a pork vendor, happened to walk by and went to sign in for the meeting in front of the House Committee on Political Development. The media went to greet her and ask for an interview, but Ms. Daeng did not respond. She just smiled awkwardly before entering the meeting room immediately.
