The Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) clarified that the Prime Minister has issued a policy for the MWA to amend regulations so that people with temporary house registrations can request to use tap water at normal rates like those with permanent house registrations.

MWA can proceed with government policy immediately. without having to amend regulations or additional orders For those with a temporary house registration, they can apply for plumbing installation in the same way as those with a permanent house registration. There is a fee for plumbing installation at the same rate.

As for the water tariff for those with a temporary house registration who use water for residential purposes, MWA will charge a Category 1 residential water fee (R1), which is the same normal rate as those with a permanent house registration.
