Money-making career: Growing edible flowers, generating tens of thousands of baht in income per month

Miscellaneous

Nakhon Sawan, From the beginning of growing flowers to relieve stress, it has become an experiment in growing edible flowers for sale, and now it has expanded to generate tens of thousands of baht in income per month.

The area inside the house of Ms. Mechanya Nakwisut, 40 years old, a graphic designer and online seller in Nakhon Sawan Province, is being used to grow edible flowers for sale to cafes, bakeries, and restaurants in the area, and is currently generating an income of no less than 30,000 baht per month.

Ms. Mechanya said that the starting point of selling edible flowers came from the period of the COVID-19 outbreak, which caused work and income to decrease, causing stress. So she used her time and space around the house to plant flowers to look at and take beautiful pictures and post them on Facebook until some friends recommended that she post them for sale in groups and pages in Nakhon Sawan Province until a bakery in the area became interested in ordering.

After that, he began to grow and sel
l them seriously, using only a few square meters of space in his house. He started with just a few types of flowers, but now he has grown 32 types of edible flowers, such as pink trumpet flowers, yellow savanna daisies, butterfly flowers, purple marguerites, silver button flowers, peacock flowers, Japanese daisies, chrysanthemums, lavender, and rosemary.

For sales, flowers are arranged on trays, 90 flowers per tray, and sold at 100 baht per tray. There are both sales posts and inquiries from various shops, with customers interested in ordering every day. Sales are as high as 15 trays per day, or 1,500 baht.

There are also many followers on the flower growing page who are interested in growing flowers. So I expanded by selling seeds, plants, and planting equipment such as earthworm manure and organic microorganism fermentation through the page I created. This has resulted in me having an income of tens of thousands of baht per month.

The strength of the flowers that he grows is their freshness and ability t
o be stored for a long time. When compared to flowers that customers have to order from the North, where transportation is long distances and takes a long time, causing damage to the flowers, his flowers are well-received by customers in the area.

For those who are interested or want seeds to grow, you can contact and inquire at the page, Mechanya’s Love Notes, Flawless by May, Edible Flowers, or contact at 08 9354 4562, where Ms. Mechanya said she is happy to teach and give advice to everyone.
