Bangkok: “Madam Oi” provided her statement to Crime Suppression Division investigators for the third consecutive day regarding the high-profile 71 million baht dispute involving a prominent lawyer. The cumulative interrogation period has exceeded 23 hours.
According to Thai News Agency, this marks the third day that Ms. Chatuphon Ubonlert, known as Madam Oi, has appeared before the Crime Suppression Division to provide her statement in the ongoing legal dispute against a renowned lawyer. In the previous two days, her interrogation spanned no less than 23 hours.
Earlier today, Mr. Somchat Pinij-aksorn, the personal lawyer for Madam Oi, informed reporters that she would be meeting with investigators at 10:30 a.m. However, by 10:50 a.m., Mr. Somchat confirmed via phone that Madam Oi had already begun her session with the police and was currently under interrogation. He indicated that the questioning was expected to be brief but did not disclose the focal points of the inquiry.
Speculation arose among media p
ersonnel that Madam Oi might have utilized a back entrance linked to the parking facility to bypass the media presence stationed at the building’s main entrance.
Inside sources from the Crime Suppression Division conveyed that the case involving Madam Oi and the notable lawyer requires further investigation to gather robust evidence needed for possible prosecution. Although additional points for questioning have not been publicly disclosed, the investigation continues diligently.
Meanwhile, the lawyer representing the opposing party has yet to coordinate with investigators, corroborating reports that he awaits contact from the police. The source also divulged that the case’s working group is meticulously evaluating the evidence to decide whether to issue a summons for the opposing party or seek a court-issued arrest warrant. The outcome will hinge on the evidence gathered, but the public and media are urged to remain patient as developments continue to unfold.
