Launch of relief measures for flood victims, “Phumtham” asks relevant agencies to urgently publicize to people in the area, hoping that people will be able to return to work and live their normal lives as soon as possible.

Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister acting on behalf of the Prime Minister, revealed that the Ministry of Finance has issued financial measures to help flood victims, as well as surveying the need for additional assistance in various areas, covering all targets, including farmers, the general public, and small entrepreneurs, through 7 Specialized Financial Institutions (SFIs) to enable people to access commercial funding sources during floods, as follows:

1. Government Savings Bank: Suspend principal, reduce interest by half for 3 months, emergency loan 0%, no collateral required, 100% home repair loan, debt repayment suspension measures, emergency loan project to help disaster victims, housing loan project for disaster victims. People can inform their intentions via the Gove
rnment Savings Bank website https://www.gsb.or.th/ or contact the local Government Savings Bank from today onwards.

2. Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives: Assist customers affected by disasters, such as debt repayment suspension measures, including cases where debts are due or overdue for 0-3 months, and cases of non-performing loans. Measures to increase liquidity and rehabilitate customers, totaling 20 billion baht for farmers affected by disasters. You can inform your intentions from today onwards at all BAAC branches nationwide or inquire for more information at the Call Center at 02 555 0555, 24 hours a day.

3. Government Housing Bank: Alleviate the hardships of customers, such as measures to reduce installments and interest rates, low-interest loans, debt consolidation measures, and urgent compensation measures. 4. Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand: Help SMEs affected by floods ‘Pause – Reduce – Expand – Adjust – Add’ to restore business. Help affected bank customers. Covering areas as announced by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Ministry of Interior, such as debt repayment suspension measures, principal repayment suspension measures in line with the severity of the impact and the nature of each business. The principal repayment suspension measures, capital loan measures for business repair and rehabilitation have opened the Call Center service 1357 to receive requests for assistance.

5. Export-Import Bank of Thailand: Measures to help customers affected by floods, such as measures to help with short-term loans. Extend the promissory note period up to 180 days. Assistance meas

6. Islamic Bank of Thailand (BAOT) has launched measures for existing customers affected by disasters. They will receive a break on principal repayment and will pay only the profit rate for a period not exceeding 6 months. 7. Small Industry Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG): Measures to assist TCG customers and debtors affected by the 2024 floods, such as fee payment suspension measures and installment payment suspension measures. Applications to join the project can be submitted until September 30, 2024.
