The northern mountainous province of Lao Cai currently has 205 products under the ‘One Commune, One Product’ (OCOP) programme after 6 years since the programme’s implementation. In the first quarter of 2024 alone, evaluation and classification were organised for 8 new OCOP products and 1 product participating in re-evaluation by 6 subjects including Bao Thang district 5 products, Lao Cai city 4 products. The number of OCOP products of districts, towns and cities includes: Lao Cai City 7 products, Sa Pa town 40 products, Bat Xat 24 products, Muong Khuong 14 products, Bac Ha 21 products, Bao Thang 39 products, Bao Yen 28 products, Van Ban 21 products and Si Ma Cai 11 products. The products fall into 5 main categories: food, beverage, traditional medicine, hand-crafted products and tourism-related products).
