Khon Kaen victims expose ‘The Icon’ as focusing on inviting people, not selling products

Victims from Khon Kaen exposed that ‘The Icon’ focused on inviting people, not selling products, while online channels in the Khon Kaen area continued to invite people using enticing travel promotions.

Khon Kaen is a province where The Icon Company has been continuously marketing since its founding and has been visiting on tours many times. At the large intersection in the middle of the city, a large billboard still advertises the ‘Boom’ brand, featuring 5 famous stars, creating credibility.

The news team traveled to Kaenthong Thani Village 1, Mueang District, Khon Kaen, where the website theicon-system.com is located. It was found to be a general residence with no signs or symbols indicating any connection to The Icon. The website owner gave information over the phone that he was a dealer, opened a bill for 250,000 baht, worked alone, had no team, had an advantage over others in that he had the ability to create a website, so he was able to sell all the products, but did not make a profit, only got his in
vestment back, and did not plan to order more products because he could barely sell them. The company did not support him as much as he should have. He struggled alone. He is currently following the news closely. If it is clear that the company’s business is illegal, he will immediately close the website.

While the Facebook page named “The Icon Group is recruiting agents in Khon Kaen Province (one of Thailand’s recruiting agents worldwide)” still posts to invite people today, enticing them with promotions for traveling to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and product reviews. On September 18, they just posted a promotion for traveling abroad. That time it was a 6-day trip to the Netherlands, if you meet the company’s conditions.

A victim from Khon Kaen reported that she used to be a distributor of this company since its establishment. She opened the first bill for a few thousand baht and got 2-3 products, but they didn’t sell. The team leader tempted her by saying that if she wanted to earn more income, she had
to increase the bill to almost 10,000 baht, but she didn’t earn a single baht. There was no sales support system like the advertisement said. She tried the product once and her face was very serious. She didn’t dare to use it herself. When it didn’t sell, the product expired and she had to throw it away. She confirmed that throughout the time they were in business, the system focused on inviting people. The product was just a component. It was no different from a pyramid scheme. Each time they went to Khon Kaen, they gathered hundreds of people to fill a large room in a luxury hotel. Each boss had a story of being poor and wealthy because of this business. When they launched, they would rehearse, tell the script, and cheer to make it look great. At that time, there was no advertising on social media and no pooling of money to run ads like today. It was much more subtle because they used cheap courses to teach online sales as a front. When people were tricked into studying, they were persuaded to open bills to
sell the products.
