BANGKOK: A well-known social media page has disclosed a secret document from The Icon Group, linking three prominent executives, referred to as “Kant-Min-Sam”, to a company-sponsored trip to Hong Kong. This revelation comes amidst ongoing investigations into alleged fraudulent activities involving the company, with reported damages exceeding 170 million baht affecting 488 victims.

According to Thai News Agency, the document was made public by the E-Sao Khi Khao page, showcasing a list of 18 individuals scheduled for the Hong Kong trip. Among them are The Icon Group’s director Waratphon Woratworakul, and actors Kant Kantathaworn, Peachya Watthanamontri, and Yuranunt Phommanutree, all of whom are also investors in the company. The document is part of a larger case that has seen the Consumer Protection Police Division intensify their investigations into the company’s operations.

The Icon Group has been under scrutiny since authorities conducted raids at nine locations connected to the company, including the pe
rsonal warehouse of CEO Paul Waratpol. These raids are part of a broader effort to gather evidence for pressing charges against the company’s executives, who are accused of engaging in a fraudulent loan scheme. Deputy Commander of the Central Investigation Bureau, Pol. Maj. Gen. Sophon Saraphat, highlighted the significance of the data recovered from the company’s server, which is crucial for building a case against the involved parties.

Moreover, the police are meticulously examining the spending behaviors of the victims, some of whom were allegedly offered trips abroad as promotions, to understand the full scope of the fraud. While an arrest warrant for CEO Paul Waratpol and other executives has yet to be issued, ongoing investigations and document collections are underway to establish a solid legal case against them. Meanwhile, other individuals connected to the case have been cooperating with the investigation and have not been charged with any crimes as of yet.
