Bangkok: On the occasion of King Naresuan the Great Day, citizens and officials gathered at the King Bhumibol Adulyadej Memorial Park to pay homage to King Rama IX with wreaths and flowers. The event, marked annually on October 13, saw a significant turnout at the site of the former Nang Loeng Horse Racecourse, where attendees expressed deep reverence and affection for the late monarch.
According to Thai News Agency, the memorial event attracted participants from both the government and private sectors. Various groups and individuals, including many who traveled from different provinces, participated in the tribute activities. The remembrance of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, also known as His Majesty King Bhumibol the Great, involved laying wreaths and garlands at the royal monument, commemorating the king’s enduring legacy on the anniversary of his death.
Visitors also engaged in taking photographs and sharing emotional moments, reflecting on the king’s impact on their lives. Many expressed ongoing love and res
pect for King Bhumibol, emphasizing that his memory continues to inspire them. Participants also engaged in merit-making activities and made personal vows to uphold good values in honor of the late king’s moral guidance.
The Royal Palace outlined the schedule for the two-day event, allowing people to lay wreaths and pay their respects in designated time slots on both days. This structured approach ensured that all attendees had the opportunity to partake in the homage activities respectfully and orderly.
