Khlong Luang detectives arrested Mr. Thanat, 62, for strangling his ex-wife Ms. Darunee, 53, and hiding her body in a room in Pathum Thani Province while she was hiding in Takhli District, Nakhon Sawan Province. From initial questioning, Mr. Thanat stated that he did it because he was angry that his ex-wife did not promise him not to be unfaithful again. He cut the cord from the iron and used it to strangle her, then used another cord to tie her hands and feet before fleeing, preparing to go to Chiang Mai, but was arrested first. The police have initially charged him with intentional murder.
