EC announces acceptance of election results for “Jadet Chanthra” as MP for Constituency 1, Phitsanulok, to fill the vacant position as proposed by the office.

The Election Commission has voted to announce the approval of Mr. Jadet Chanthra of the Pheu Thai Party as the MP for Phitsanulok Constituency 1 after he was elected with the highest number of votes and there is no evidence that the election on September 15 was not conducted honestly and fairly.

The by-election for the Phitsanulok Constituency 1 MP on September 15 was a result of the Constitutional Court’s ruling to dissolve the party and disqualify the Move Forward Party’s executives for overthrowing the government, including former Phitsanulok MP Padipat Santitada.

The election on September 15, there were 138,582 eligible voters, 761,526 of whom exercised their right to vote, 67,840 valid ballots, 1,108 spoiled ballots, 7,204 ballots with no candidate selected. The election results showed that Mr. Jadet Chanthra, candidate number 2 of the Pheu Tha
i Party, received 37,209 votes, and Mr. Nattachanok Chanaburasak, candidate number 1 of the Prachachon Party, received 30,631 votes, 67,840 valid ballots.
