Hanoi: Digital applications to visualise material cycles and their roles to boost circular economy in Vietnam were spotlighted at a programme held in Hanoi on January 24.

The event was organised by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s Resource and Environment Communication Centre (RECC) in collaboration with the Environmental Generation and Material Cycles Bureau under the Ministry of the Environment of Japan.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of the RECC Vu Minh Ly stressed that the Vietnamese Government has committed to realising the net-zero target by 2050 and is striving towards the goal by issuing an array of documents and regulations on the development of the sustainable economic growth model, and promotion of recycling.

Meanwhile, Ko Matsuura from the Japan’s environmental generation bureau said that the ministries of environment of the two countries signed cooperation deals in waste management work, 3R (reduce-reuse-recycle) projects, and development of smart industrial parks, a
mong others.

Japan, boasting considerable experience and advanced technologies, will contribute to improving the waste management in Vietnam, he added.

According to Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Akira Hiroi, waste management is a universal issue that matters to every single nation across the globe.

As the amount of waste in Vietnam has increased over time while the country’s treatment models have shown irrationality, the Japanese Government hopes that it could contribute to the circular economy transition in Vietnam through not only existing cooperation programmes but also future ones.

Experts and environmental managers at the event introduced the circular system of smart materials and the potential to branch out this system at Vietnamese industrial parks /.

OBEC explains guidelines for maintaining safety in educational institutions. Points out that Thai children do not study the most in the world. Ready to reduce homework increase learning

Acting Lt. Col. Thanu Wongchinda, Secretary-General of the Basic Education Commission (Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission), assigned Mr. Thee Phawangkanan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Basic Education Commission. along with Mr. Wisanu Subsombat, Director of the Office of Academic Affairs and Educational Standards and Mrs. Phatthariyawan Pannoi, Director of the Office of Special Education Administration Press conference to explain guidelines for maintaining safety in educational institutions after the Cabinet resolution canceling teacher duty. And Thai students have the most study hours in the world. This is an issue that the public is currently interested in.

For the first issue, Mr. Tee Phawangkanan, OBEC Deputy Secretary-General, said that due to the Cabinet resolution canceling teachers’
duty shifts, the OBEC has issued an order for all Educational Service Area Offices. Coordinate with affiliated schools To take care of educational institutions Without having to worry about safety on duty and many new methods have been changed. From the matter of coordinating and requesting cooperation from the local administrative departments, such as the police, kamnans, village headmen, as well as the team of the Ministry of Interior. and those involved Come to help with safety to be more comprehensive. And there was a meeting of educational institutions. If any educational institution has the potential to hire security officers or already a janitor Security work can be assigned without teachers having to be on duty. and serves only to supervise through various systems For schools that have CCTV cameras, teachers can use this tool to protect government property. Including the case of other incidents such as fires, accidents, public disasters, cooperation from the community is required. local organization w
hich is considered to be joint ownership of the school Please help take care of each other thoroughly.

‘In addition, the Ministry of Education, led by Police General Permpoon Chidchob, Minister of Education, has sent a letter to the Ministry of Interior. To request cooperation in organizing village security teams to take care of educational institutions, and as for the OBEC, there is an order, with Lt. Col. Thanu Wongchinda, secretary-general of the OBEC, ordering Letter requesting cooperation with all relevant agencies to be clearer And thank you once again for each department performing their duties very well. To jointly take care of educational institutions Let students and teachers come to school with peace of mind so that the policy of “study well, be happy” can actually happen,” Mr. Thee said.

Next, on the issue of Thai students having the most study hours in the world, Mr. Wissanu Subsombat, Director of the National Research Council of Thailand, explained that With the policy of the Minister of Educa
tion (Pol. Gen. Permpoon Chidchob) One important policy is to reduce the burden on teachers and reduce the burden on students. Therefore, in driving this policy The Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) has therefore developed guidelines for reducing homework and increasing learning for students. By giving homework that is consistent with students’ learning conditions. It will help reduce the burden of homework on students.

In this regard, the OBEC curriculum provides learning for students according to the Basic Education Core Curriculum 2008 (revised in 2019), which is the time period for organizing learning for students in the primary year level. Places 1-6 include basic subjects. Additional subjects and student development activities In one academic year, a total of not less than 1,000 hours, while junior high school students Study not less than 1,200 hours and high school students, grades 4-6, study for a total of 3 years, not less than 3,600 hours.

There are 40 weeks or 200 days in an academi
c year. Therefore, at the primary level, time will be spent on learning on average not less than 5 hours per day, while at the middle and high school levels. On average, not less than 6 hours a day, which if looking at the news on social media It was found that there are some news sources that Thai students study the most in the world. which may be inaccurate to the understanding of the general public Because the data source cannot be specified for storage. Or sometimes hours are counted from the time the student arrives at school until the end of school time for that day. Including lunch break or break time, it is 9.5 hours.

The Office of Academic Affairs, OBEC, went down to collect data by taking teaching schedules from each of 15 schools to see details of attendance. And it was found that the maximum time was 8 hours and 50 minutes, starting from the time the children came to school until they left school. But if you really look at the study time It was found that the maximum time was 7 hours 30 minutes,
and in some schools, if you counted from the time you arrived until you returned The least time is 6 hours 45 minutes, but the actual study time is 5 hours 35 minutes. Therefore, in medium or large secondary schools, the average attendance at school is approximately 7.8 hours, but the actual study time is 6.9 hours. Therefore, if Compared to foreign countries Ours is not considered the highest. Many countries have similar study times to us, such as Japan which is 203 days, which is almost no difference.

‘The OBEC, represented by Lt. Col. Thanu Wongchinda, OBEC secretary-general, sees the importance of reducing the burden on students. Therefore, it has been communicated to the Educational Service Area Office and educational institutions regarding reducing homework and increasing learning. Issue 1 is reducing homework or increasing things for children to learn with the work that teachers give them. If any workload is completed in the classroom, children do not need to continue doing it at home. You can complet
e it in the activities that the teacher organizes in the classroom.

And the second point is that homework is a skill that children need to work on. Therefore, subjects that can be given as homework must be necessary skills for students, such as Thai language and mathematics, provided in an amount appropriate to the student’s grade level. and can be integrated across subject groups It is a piece of work or workload as appropriate to the subject. Focus on learning anytime, anywhere. Can be learned both inside and outside the classroom. As well as emphasizing children’s active learning by using real situations to practice and learn by themselves. Therefore, in organizing learning that makes children learn happily and reduces the burden on students. It also helps teachers organize teaching that is appropriate for the context of the school and students. This reduces the burden on teachers as well, according to the policy of “Study well, be happy” of the Minister of Education, who wants students and teachers Come
to school happily Learn in a fun way together,’ Mr. Wissanu said
