Bangkok, Samsen police arrested ‘Private Sunai’, the man who stabbed his girlfriend, a former parliamentary cleaning lady, to death, and objected to bail. He expressed his guilt and wanted to apologize to the deceased’s parents and relatives.

Today (11 July), Sam Sen Police Station officers arrested Private First Class Sunai, a suspect in the stabbing of his former parliament maid girlfriend to death on 29 June 2014. He was arrested in Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province on 9 July and taken to reenact the crime scene to support his confession.

At 2:46 p.m., Pol. Lt. Col. Amorn Nithisamyong, Deputy Superintendent (Investigation), Samsen Police Station, took Private Sunai to the Bangkok Military Court for detention on charges of ‘intentionally killing another person.’ While taking the suspect into the vehicle, he appeared indifferent. When reporters asked if he wanted to say anything or apologize to the family of the deceased, Private Sunai stated, ‘I feel very guilty. I want to apologize to the parents and
relatives of the deceased. What I did was not thought about. It was not intentional. It was a momentary lapse of reason.’ Initially, the authorities objected to bail because the punishment is severe.
