Government House, Oct 8 – “Chulaphan” reveals that short-term economic stimulus measures have been prepared, asking to wait for a clear conclusion first. Ready to organize a mobile treasury fair, visiting flooded areas, emphasizing that politics will not interfere in appointing the Bank of Thailand board.

Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Deputy Minister of Finance, said that he has prepared short-term economic stimulus measures as a package for the next 6 months, but it cannot be concluded at this time. We have to wait for the meeting first.

Mr. Chulaphan mentioned about the flood victims that the banks under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance have already issued several loan measures to help. They are currently collecting and considering whether additional measures are necessary. They have also discussed with Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, that the Ministry of Finance may organize a mobile treasury event or go to organize a festival in the damaged areas, such as M
ae Sai, Chiang Mai Province, in order to rehabilitate the damaged economic areas by helping the people and SMEs to get back on their feet.

In addition, there was discussion about short-term measures to provide support, especially in areas affected by flooding. Short-term measures will be introduced to encourage people to go shopping and travel in those areas.

As for the half-and-half project, will the government continue it or not? Mr. Chulaphan said that he listens to everything. There is no conclusion yet. He also emphasized that this government will not take issue with dignity or who thinks of doing it first or later. But if it is a measure that benefits the people, we are happy. We are still discussing it. There is no conclusion yet on whether to do it or not.

In the past, he criticized the half-and-half project when he was in the opposition. If he were to do it himself, would it be like swallowing his own words? Mr. Chulaphan said that it would not be because the economic situation is different at dif
ferent times and the format of the project may be the same or different, no one knows yet. In the end, we have to look at what is most beneficial.

As for concerns that politics will interfere in the appointment of the chairman of the Bank of Thailand, Mr. Chulaphan insisted that there was no interference, and that everything was in accordance with the law and there was nothing to worry about.

As for whether the name is Mr. Kittiratt Na Ranong, former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister of Finance, I personally don’t know. That’s why I said that we didn’t intervene. 314.-Thai News Agency
